MacKenzie Announces Federal Funding for the 2010 Bicentennial Celebrations

Norwich, ON — Dave MacKenzie, Member of Parliament for Oxford and Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Public Safety, is pleased to announce $11,100.00 to the 2010 Bicentennial Celebrations in Norwich.

The 2010 Bicentennial Committee is a local unincorporated volunteer-run organization. From July 1 to 4, 2010, it will present the 2010 Bicentennial Celebration in Norwich, Ontario. Commemorative activities include performances by local artists. “The 2010 Committee is thrilled at the announcement of grant monies for our project.  The committee is busy planning special events along with community partners including the Business Improvement Area, Norwich & District Chamber of Commerce, Norwich Township Fire Department and the Royal Canadian Legion, to name only a few.  The Bicentennial Celebrations are an opportunity for us to celebrate our roots and our growing diversity over the years,” said Martha Dennis, Chair of the committee.
