Minister Finley highlights job creation and progress of shipbuilding strategy in Halifax
Today, the Honourable Diane Finley, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, along with the Honourable Peter MacKay, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada and Regional Minister for Nova Scotia; the Honourable Darrell Dexter, Premier of Nova Scotia; and Jim Irving, Co-CEO, J.D. Irving, Limited, addressed attendees at the announcement of several contract awards for Nova Scotia and Canadian suppliers as part of Irving Shipbuilding's Halifax Shipyard Modernization Program, a $300-million investment to prepare the company's facilities to build Canada's future combatant ships.
